kat8chaMinami looked out the view port at the approaching moon base. He didn't like it. He didn't like it at all. Rikkai's moon base was too well *regulated*. If Minami was just running a normal shipping company, if his poor ship hadn't been used for both smuggling and piracy over the past year…
It made Minami uncomfortable to dock at a port like Rikkai. Minami had felt even more uncomfortable when they had docked at Seigaku, which had a higher success rate for catching smugglers. The reason for that was because people weren't stupid enough to smuggle things into or out of Rikkai, that type of thing got you killed. Not in a pleasant way either, Rikkai had some of the toughest, best offensively trained psychics in the galaxy. It was said that Seigaku's psychics were just as good, but Minami would take Tezuka Kunimitsu over Sanada Genichirou any century.
"Worried?" Higashikata hovered over Minami's right shoulder, his hands hovering just above Minami's skin, the warmth Higashikata's hands radiated made Minami's shoulders unclench a little, slump, and Higashikata took this as permission to touch. Higashikata's hands dropped, touching Minami's shoulders, then squeezing, before letting go.
"How could I not be worried?" Minami questioned, almost leaning back into Higashikata's chest. It would be so easy to go that extra step from 'cozy captain and first mate' to 'intimate friends'. "I'm sure the nervousness I feel is sending up flares all over the space station, and Sengoku can't keep his thoughts quiet to save his life-"
"Which he might need to." Higashikata interjected.
"I used to feel safe flying into Rikkai's base and now I just worry that one of us is going to end up getting arrested." Minami sighed and felt a headache beginning to bloom behind his right eye.
"Besides Akutsu?" Higashikata absently patted Minami's shoulder, his eyes gazing out into space. "We've been going to Muromachi for years, there's no point in stopping now."
"You're right." They hadn't stopped coming when they had started smuggling things five years ago, they wouldn't stop coming now that they were pirates too. Due to psychic warfare they wouldn't be recognized as pirates anyway… unless Rikkai decided to interrogate them.
"Maybe Sengoku should just stay on the ship."
