kat8chaRin grinned as he and Chinen finished their duet.
Tanishi was keeping busy by playing with the maracas, occasionally shaking them to the beat for whoever was singing. So far the singers had been Rin and Chinen singing a duet, Shiranui singing a solo, and Kite had sung a solo earlier. Kite's glare had stated quite simply that in no way was he singing another one, despite his fine singing voice, and that he would get them all back for that. Shiranui would probably have down a duet with Aragaki if the other hadn't been grounded and so unable to come to out to karaoke.
Eyes narrowing Rin honed in on the one person who had been obstinately uninvolved on the outing. "Kai~" Rin sing-songed, dangling the mike in front of Kai's face. "Your turn."
Kai gulped, pressing himself back into the cushy seating of the karaoke booth. Rin smirked, wiggling the microphone.
"Yeah, Kai, let's hear you sing!" Shiranui chimed in, grinning manically. He was probably looking forward to telling Aragaki about how he managed to get Kai to embarrass himself. Judging from the way Kai was looking at the microphone, Rin bet Kai would embarrass himself if he sang or not.
Tanishi took a break from the maracas to glance in Kai and Rin's direction. "It's only fair. I know you sing in the shower Kai."
Rin blinked in surprise. Filing that information away for later, he had to find out when Tanishi had been at Kai's house when the other was showering, Rin pressed the mike into Kai's hands. "C'mon, see? Everyone wants you to."
Kai glanced at Chinen and Kite in a last ditch effort to avoid Rin's trap. Rin knew that his partner was on his side though, and Kite had been forced to sing earlier as well.
"Go ahead Kai-kun." Kite stated coolly.
"…fine." Kai muttered sulkily, pushing Rin out of the way as he made his way over to the television screen. Picking a song he waited for a few seconds until it came up.
"Wait! Think fast!" Kai shouted, tossing the microphone at Tanishi before bolting for the door. The ensuing mayhem might have gotten Kai out of the booth without having to sing, but he had forgotten one crucial detail.
Kite had sat next to the door.
Rin and Tanishi snickered as Kai wiggled under the foot planted on his back.
"I suggest," Kite drawled slowly, applying more pressure to Kai juts to watch him squirm. "You take it like a man and sing."
