From an early age Roy ends up being tortured.
On Lian's first birthday (second birthday?) Roy goes to get his daughter back. Cheshire kicks his ass, ties him up, and poisons him. Dick gets Roy's daughter for him.
Roy works for Checkmate and leads another group of Titans. This doesn't make people happy with him. So he gets elctrocuted.
This one is at least all Ollie's fault for being wanted by dirty CIA operatives while his son works for them.
Cheshire gets kidnapped in a plot that I don't understand but it turns out that Lian was kidnapped too. Roy gets the heck kicked out of him, again. Dick has to save Lian for him... again.
