Kyle Rayner doesn’t fear him, that much is obvious. It angers Sinestro, gets under his skin, makes Sinestro rage enough that a red lantern ring may be tempted to pull over and perch on his finger. But no, he is a yellow lantern, a member of the Sinestro corps. They’re his corps after all.
The answer to his problem was simple really.
Kyle Rayner may not fear Sinestro or Parallax, but he feared himself and he feared failure.
The alley rat arched under Sinestro, his eyes screwed shut, like hiding his eyes could keep Sinestro from seeing into Rayner’s soul, his feelings were painted all over Kyle’s features. In Earth terminology, his heart was on his sleeve.
"What you feel now is pain, but you shall feel fear.” Sinestro bit down on Rayner’s chest, tasting blood. The scream was stifled in Rayner’s throat. “I will make you.”
