kat8chaWhen Daiki said that they'd continue the journey together they weren't entirely sure if he meant it. Daiki had his own means of travelling between the worlds and he has never bothered to stick with them before. Daiki is not really what you would call a 'team player'.
It's true, now and then Daiki disappears. Maybe for a few days, once for two weeks. Sometimes he shows up on the next world with his hands on whatever 'treasure' there is to be found, sometimes he shows up back in the photo gallery empty handed and sometimes they find him in trouble.
Natsumi and her grandfather have always had specific cups for their coffee, her father and mother had cups of their own as well. When Tsukasa shows up in their lives (and appeared to be staying in them) he'd somehow added a pink cup to the mix (half the size of a mug, but not the right shape for a teacup really). When Yuusuke showed up it wasn't long before a brightly colored mug (a real mug, Yuusuke drank about twice the amount of coffee Natsumi did) with Yuusuke's name showed up.
A cup for Daiki never appears, but he doesn't seem to mind.
"Yuusuke, did you remember to a- Kaito!" Kaito had been 'helping' Yuusuke get the coffee together (which for Kaito involved more getting in Yuusuke's way than actual helping) and now stood with his hip cocked against the table and Tsukasa's cup pressed to his lips. Kaito takes one slow, deliberate, sip.
"Do you really need four sugar cubes, Tsukasa?" Daiki asks, his face crumpled slightly in disgust. He then moved towards the window and looked out at the scenery of the new world they were in. He made no move to give the cup and coffee back to Tsukasa.
Natsumi watched with her own cup warm in her hands. She drinks her coffee black, which she knows Kaito preferred, but Kaito preferred to steal Tsukasa's coffee. Not that it was only Tsukasa's coffee he stole, he would occasionally steal Natsumi's, and now and then would taunt Yuusuke by drinking from his cup. Natsumi does not pretend that it is Daiki's way of showing that he cares for them, instead she is well aware that it is just Daiki being himself.
She knew he cared anyway.
