Jul. 3rd, 2010 03:06 amMarui doesn't like the thought of facing down Atobe Keigo on his own. Sure, he's a genius, but Atobe Keigo has been known to mess people up. Well, his company has, but in no way is Atobe just another pretty face heading another multi bajillion star system company. That type of CEO doesn't exist anymore. "Sorry." Marui blows a bubble and lets it pop. "But you're not authorized to leave the port, misterAtobe."
Marui doesn't like the thought of facing Atobe down on his own, so it's a good thing he has Jackal with him. Back at base Marui can feel Niou and Yagyuu taking on Yanagi's typical role of gestalt, connecting them all together, sharing power, except Kirihara and Yanagi who were cut off from the whole. Marui can feel Sanada, strong and loud as a thunder storm, coming closer and closer with Yukimura's ice cold hail storm mind right beside him. Geeze, some serious shit had to be going down.
You can say that again. Niou's voice in his mind is slippery, eel like. Don't let them by you, genius!
Mizuki Hajime, head cultist or head priest or WHATEVER he was, held up some flimsy piece of electronics. "All of our papers are in order, officer." The last word is stressed to match Marui's sneer at Atobe.
Jackal, nice guy that he is, takes the electronic reader from Mizuki and begins to read through it. Marui wonders if Mizuki knows how much he just projects. Lesser psychics might not notice the fact that the guy was constantly trying to hook up with you on a psychic level but Marui could tell. Guy was a powerful empath and so was Atobe. Geeze, the two of them together were like one giant fuzzy empathic orgy. It made Marui want to smack the two of them hard and get them to shut up.
"Everything would be in order…" The reader dropped to the ground and crunched under Jackal's heel, it's screen cracking and the insides beginning to spark and smoke. "If your real names had been given to the Port Guard as per standard docking protocol."
The men flanking Atobe bristled. Marui did a quick check in his mind. Empath, anger points, psychic… wow, really strong psychic, and…
Dead zone?
…crap.
"I assure you." Mizuki sniffed, and it didn't take a genius (though Marui was one) to see he was attempting to apply pressure to Jackal's mind. "That EVERYTHING is in o-"
"Mizuki-" Atobe said, cutting the other man off, before his eyes widened.
There was no psychical explosion, no mushroom cloud in the air, no earth rumbling boom. Still, Marui felt there should be. His knees buckled slightly but he stayed upright, Jackal didn't even look phased. When Marui got his eyes to focus again he noted that Atobe's eyes were the size of dinner plates and blood was slowly dripping from his nose. Mizuki did not look much better, his knuckles whiter than his face as he clung harshly to the little scarfaced psychic's arm.
Jackal took a deep breath, the only sign that he had felt that. "No, I don't think everything is in order sir, now if you could please retreat to your vessel while we research the cause of this disturbance I assure you we will get back to you in an orderly manner."
The anger empathy was on his knees, blood freely streaming from his nose despite the dead zone's attempt to stifle it. Lesser psychics around the dock looked frazzled.
The next time Yukimura says we're going to need to brace ourselves, Niou's voice cut into Marui's thoughts, backed by Yagyuu's raw feeling mind, I'm getting off base.
No you won't. Yanagi cutting in, cold as a chilled ice pick, Marui. Report.
Is he pissy lately, Niou's mental voice began to fade out, Or is it just me?
I wonder if you people have a 'Kat Free' filter, just so you don't get spammed by this.
