Title: Motto Motto Moe!
Author: ...duh
Fandom: DRRR!!!
Pairing: hints of Shizuo/Dotachin, Izaya/Dotachin, Otaku Van
Rating: PG
Summary: Kadota gets glasses and suddenly it's megane fever!
A/N: Kink Meme Fill. I actually still want to write Chikage/Dotachin but I know NOTHING ABOUT HIS CHARACTER. (Cry.) I also didn't really want to write Shizuo/Dotachin but that was the way the people on the meme were leaning so...In my head I was going to write Everyone/Dotachin and have all these entertaining scenes even with Celty and Kida...
When he was younger his mother had always told him that reading in the dark would make him go blind. Not that young Kyohei had listened to his mother, especially not when he was RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE of finishing this series or that series or this novel or that novel. Since his eyesight had held through his high school years and beyond Kadota had never really thought back on his mother's warnings.
Well, until now.
Because as he stared at himself in the mirror he realized that needing glasses was going to be painful.
"Uh…" Kadota briefly considered the price of contacts, and then shook his head. Just because he didn't want to wear glasses? No, that was stupid. And it was ridiculous to worry about how they made him look, it's not like anyone really gave him a second glance. "I'll take them."
Little did poor Kadota know…

"Yumacchi." Fists pounded on Walker's arm. "YUMACCHI!"
"What?" Walker looked around, confused at what had set Erika off. Generally it was two boys doing something 'yaoibaity' or a sale on manga. Sometimes it was a television celebrity, a voice actor, or a mangaka walking by. Still, rarely had Walker been startled out of blissful reading to find himself faced with… well, with nothing.
Sure, there was Togusa leaning on the outside of the van and Kadota walking over to the van, but that was nothing out of the usual…
Wait.
"Is that…" Walker joined Karisawa in pressing his face up against the glass. "Is that Kadota-san wearing glasses?"
"It IS!" Karisawa's squeal could have broken glass were she not restraining herself. "Dotachin got even more moe! Yumacchi, you know what this means!" Karisawa turned to her partner in crime with a smile.
"Classic straight man!" Walker and Erika squealed together.

Togusa was pretty sure he was going to kill Yumasaki or Karisawa, either of them would do really. Or maybe Togusa would just off all of them by driving the van into a wall. Kadota's spirit would probably thank him.
Or Kadota would if he had to endure another week of Yumasaki and Karisawa being out and out INSANE. It had only been two days since Kadota had gone and gotten glasses (they were nice glasses, Togusa would admit, and they looked good on Kadota too) which meant it had been somewhere around a day and a half since Yumasaki and Karisawa had seen Kadota wearing glasses. Since then they had been…
The only word for it was 'manic' Togusa was sure. Manic, insane, crazy, IDIOTS… They were going to drive Togusa to booze. It was not even him they were crawling all over and it was driving him nuts.

Kyohei had been pretty sure that nothing would surprise him in Ikebukuro, at this point he was pretty sure he'd seen it ALL.
"Yo." Kyohei lazily raised a hand when Shizuo passed him by. It was routine by now, he greeted Shizuo on the other man's way back from work and Shizuo passed him by without a word. He figured today would be the usual except a few steps later Shizuo stopped… then walked backwards until he was in front of Kyohei again.
"…evening." Kyohei greeted tentatively.
"…you look different." Shizuo said slowly, rolling the words around in his mouth before he pronounced them. Shizuo lit the cigarette hanging off of his bottom lip. "New hat?"
Kyohei briefly wondered if Shizuo was being serious. "No, I got-"
"Always wanted to say that." Shizuo pulled the cigarette from his mouth and breathed out smoke. "The glasses look good on you, Kadota."

With the speed that rumors spread through Ikebukuro Erika wasn't surprised at all that everyone seemed to know about Dotachin's new look. It seemed like everyone who knew him commented on the glasses. The last time they had gone to Russian Sushi Simon had given them a discount, something about not hitting a guy with glasses. But there was still one person who was close (close-ish) to Dotachin who had yet to pay his respects.
One Orihara Izaya.
Not that anyone was really surprised because Izaya was all sorts of MYSTERIOUS when he wanted to be, and that was what made him so yummy. And Shizu-Shizu was just so protective of his cute little uke. Erika couldn't get enough of the two of them together.
But that didn't stop her from slashing Iza-Iza with other people! Ukes were notoriously fickle.
Although with the glasses Dotachin was more moe than seme…

Togusa was pretending not to see or hear anything. Or really be there at all. He was standing on the side walk with his phone pressed to his ear listening to Ruri music while he waited to be picked as a contest winner. If he won he might get to MEET RURI. And no one was a bigger Ruri fan than he was.
But he was pretending not to see or hear anything else because there was something about Izaya's conversations with Kadota that made Erika scribble in that little black book she carried around. Togusa was just glad she didn't think he was interested.
"I heard you got glasses, Dotachin~" Izaya was hanging off of the side of the van.
Oh god, was he LEERING? That was not cool.
"I'm surprised you took this long."
That was Kadota, cool as a cucumber…
Unless he was blushing. Was he blushing?!
dotachindotachindotachindotachindotachin
Kyohei was going to kill Karisawa and Yumasaki.
Or Izaya.
Or maybe just bribe Togusa to run the van into Izaya during an Izaya vs Shizuo battle, thus killing them all. Togusa had been nigh-suicidal since losing that contest to meet Ruri. He might be open to it.
"But Dotachin looked so cute when Izaya was hitting on him! Right Yumacchi?"
"Kadota-san was blushing." Yumasaki piped up cheerfully. The two of them bounced together in the back seat, unbuckled as always.
"But I heard from a little birdy that Shizu-Shizu likes Dotachin's glasses too!"
"Who tol-" Kyohei snapped, turning around in his seat. He bit of the rest of the sentence when he saw Karisawa's broad grin. Damn. "Stop calling me that. And don't call HIM that." Turning around he pushed his glasses up to rub the bridge of his nose.
He already had two headaches, he didn't need three.
dotachindotachindotachindotachindotachin
Walker stomped his foot down on the right arrow and then did a double stomp on the left one, mindlessly he followed the directions of the fast paced arrows lighting up the screen in front of him. To his left Karisawa preformed the same complicated combos the two of them completely in tune. They traded smiles as the crowd around them cheered. That was when Walker spotted the two men standing in the shadows.
It was almost enough to throw him off of his beat but he managed to turn back to the screen and finish off the. Karisawa followed him off the dance floor, worried, together the two of them faded into the arcade's crowd while two other people began to play DDR.
Karisawa's disappointment at having DDR time cut short would be worth it when she spotted Shizuo and Kadota quietly talking tucked away in a corner together.
dotachindotachindotachindotachindotachin
Togusa hadn't thought much about Kadota's sexuality before. Well, beyond 'straight'. He had always been pretty sure that the other man was straight even if Kadota wasn't interested in Ruri and could get fixated on the weirdest things. Sure, Kadota had never shown interest in a woman, but Kadota had never shown interest in a man either.
Watching the way Kadota talked with Shizuo… well, it was different from the way Kadota talked to Yumasaki, and it was different from the way Togusa and Kadota chatted.
Kadota was actively trying to keep Shizuo's interest, although he was also trying to look like that wasn't what he was doing. Shizuo seemed to be attempting to pretend he cared while at the same time obviously not caring.
Togusa smothered the urge to honk the horn to get the two of them to break apart. If they started making out though, he would.
dotachindotachindotachindotachindotachin
Kadota was pretty sure he was going to kill his friends. He loved them, he did, like friends and not like anything else, but they could drive him absolutely insane.
Insane.
"We're not dating." Kadota wasn't gritting his teeth but it wasn't for lack of frustration. Karisawa was sitting at his kitchen table with bright shining eyes and clasped hands. Yumasaki looked torn between amusement and actual surprise, and Togusa looked… well, he looked like he didn't believe him.
So he and Shizuo had gone out drinking. So they were actually TALKING for the first time… ever. It didn't mean anything. They were FRIENDS.
Friends could crash at each other's places.
Although if Kadota had known that Karisawa, Yumasaki, and Togusa were going to take it upon themselves to barge into his place that morning he would have suggested Shizuo stay somewhere else.
Or at least sleep on the couch.
