kat8chaKadota didn't really date much. He had a hectic and often unpredictable work schedule and although his social schedule was not JAM PACKED just hanging with the guys (Karisawa counted) ate up most of his free time. So he did not date much. He was also a little bland, tended to disappear in a crowd, and couldn't flirt to save his life. But he was still reasonably attractive, reasonably fit, and reasonably charming. A lot of people went for the 'generally silent gruff tsundere big brother' type.
A surprising number of people.
However, Kadota never managed to score more than a first date with most of these people.
There was a reason for that.
The truth was that after Kadota had dropped his dates off, they were quickly snatched, stuffed in the back of Togusa's van, and interrogated.
Generally not with painful and long lasting consequences, but occasionally. Sometimes things just happened.
It wasn't that Yumasaki and Karisawa were insanely jealous or insanely protective or simply insane (well, no, they were that last one) it was just that they worried about their friend. They would do the same for Togusa, if Togusa ever found a Ruri look a-like to date. They would do the same for each other as well, if they ever separated from each other long enough to find some other life partner.
Interrogating and torturing potential girlfriends was just what friends did.
Of course, Karisawa had balked that one night where Kadota had gone on a date with a boy (although whether Kadota realized it was a date was never answered) but Yumasaki had persevered for gender equality.
Togusa had no opinion on the matter as long as they didn't make a mess.
