Feb. 7th, 2010 12:40 amSo. I went to see The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus today.
. . .
Also, it was not a good night for me to drive. I'm lucky I didn't wrap myself around a tree. Now if only my insides can stop screaming in pain.
...okay, so, apparently the guys who make this movie don't make movies that make sense.
This upsets me, because there were SO MANY PLAUSIBLE WAYS for it to have MADE SENSE.
So very many!
The dream sequences when Tony was played by someone other than Heath Ledger worked. Really they did. They made quite a bit of sense, even.
Tony's character was, well, a dirty dirty scumbag. I can respect that.
The movie began... kind of odd. Hard to make sense of. But once you got a hold of it you sort of went 'okay, I can work with this!'
...however, once you reach the climax, you kind of go 'okay, I can't work with this'.
And, as a story maker, this upsets me. I could see so many plausible endings, or at least plausible explanations, THAT JUST DID NOT HAPPEN!
ALSO. WHY IS PERCY IMMORTAL TOO?!
