Jan. 23rd, 2010 02:46 amThe funny thing about time, Niou reflected, was that you really couldn't stop it. Or maybe that wasn't the funny thing about it, maybe the funny thing about time is that despite irrefutable proof that stopping time was impossible given the current state of technology was that on a given day any number of people wished they could stop it. Niou thought about that often enough, wishing he could stop time, wishing he could reverse it. But the funny thing about time was that it just kept on going. Niou's life kept going, totally normal, almost exactly like it had been a week ago.
Except for one person shaped hole.
It wasn't that Niou even needed a time machine to fill that person shaped hole up. He could fill that hole with someone else, someone new, who would grow to fit the hole or would force the hole to fit them. Niou could even let that person shaped hole just fade, it would take more time than getting someone new but in the long run it might be a better idea. Niou tended to have crap taste in boyfriends. He liked the type who wouldn't let him get away with everything, who could meet him on an intellectual and physical level, who could appreciate his jokes. Niou liked the type of person who would fly to Lisbon on a whim for a weekend, and they would spend the entire time on the beach.
Of course, that type of person had a tendency to be their own person, which meant that they made up their own minds about things.
Niou sighed and flipped his cell-phone open. There was a metallic object in front of him, bits and pieces forming what might be a sculpture, with a little work. Niou couldn't complete it. He wasn't sure what it was. He didn't…
The proverbial light bulb snapped above Niou's head. He wandered around his studio until he found what he needed, then set to work on his sculpture. He would need a camera once he was finished putting things together, but he knew where to find one. And he knew that when the sculpture went up at the gallery that featured his work that Fuji would hear about it.
And the title.
'Every passing minute is a chance to turn it all around'.
Fuji'd know.
