kat8chaByakuran's laughter was cut short when he noticed the relatively small metallic object being rolled into the area. It was hard to hear over the echoing ring of his laughter, or the shouts and groans of the Vongola below. Byakuran was almost finished toying with them, he could have finished them off ages ago but they made such entertaining toys. Uni was a hop-skip-and-a-jump anyway anyhow, Byakuran could snatch her up easily enough once he was finished bleeding Sawada Tsunayoshi and his fellows onto the ground.
He probably should have finished them off sooner.
"Shou-chan, what is that?" Byakuran pretended not to be worried as he fluttered about in the air, the wings and sky flame keeping him afloat. "Shou-chan couldn't possibly be thinking of fighting against me, could he? He knows he'd lose."
Shouichi's face is pale and strained, and even from Byakuran's vantage point in the sky he can make out the dark stain slowly spreading over Shouichi's shirt. Shouichi doesn't shout a retort, he doesn't answer the Vongola's panted broken questions.
He just flips the switch on the side of the cannon like machine, and slumps to the side.
The machine whines as it warms up, and Byakuran feels the first icy touch of fear. It's not like he can't destroy the machine. But something is…
The wings on his back disappear, and Byakuran begins to fall.
Ah, he should have known Shou-chan would be prepared with a flame sucker of his own. The more effort Byakuran puts into keeping himself from falling, the more flames are sucked away. The ground rushes up to meet him. Byakuran's legs and arms snap when they hit the ground. He lies awkwardly, staring up at the sky he so dearly wanted to conquer while the Vongola crowd around him.
Victorious.
