Older than Dino, hopelessly devoted to Dino, ridiculously proud of Dino… It was only surprising really that Romario had not brought out the pictures before. It had taken several years, a party, several glasses of champagne, and Dino out of the room, off dealing with 'Boss Business' with Tsuna.
"He was so cute when he was a kid." Romario said, spreading his wallet out on the table. Yamamoto leaned over Romario's shoulder to look at them, while Gokudera spared them a dismissive glance and a 'ch, the tenth was cuter than him'.
Hibari leaned against a marble column not too far away. It was far enough away to give the illusion (and oh how Hibari hated that word) of being separated, but close enough that Hibari could still see the pictures Romario was lining up on the table. Not close enough to see them in detail though, and that was what forced him to take a few steps closer to the table. Yamamoto glanced from the pictures to his face, but wisely did not say anything.
"This was during his first Christmas pageant. The priest asked especially if young Dino could do it." The picture Romario was referring to was Dino dressed in what amounted to a white dress and a pair of fake looking white wings. A golden tinsel halo was held onto his head with wires. Dino's cheeks were bright red, and his eyes round and watery as he looked into the flashing camera. It was obvious Dino was embarrassed.
It was… cute.
Hibari felt the urge to destroy the photo to prevent anyone from ever seeing it again, and also to steal the picture and tuck it away.
"This one is the real reason the boys started calling him 'Bucking Horse'." Romario whispered, sliding one picture out from the depths of his wallet. He must have been well and truly drunk to unveil such a deep, dark, Cavallone secret. The picture showed Dino, dressed in some sort of cowboy outfit, pants with tassles , a little red vest and complete with brown foam hat, dangling from the side of a small pony. The pony was a little bigger than Dino (who was five, or so said the Happy Birthday banner in the background) and Dino was clinging to the saddle for dear life.
It was… cute.
"-his cousin sent the wrong clothes, so instead of a new suit he had a dress and Dino insisted on trying it on first-"
Hibari's tonfa pressed up under Romario's chin. "Herbivore." Hibari paused. "Make me copies."
