kat8chaKirihara had been skittish most of the day. For one thing, it was his birthday, and Niou had made sure to leak the information to his fan clubs and so all these girls had been mobbing him.
Mobbing him.
All day. And so, Kirihara was checking around corners, and trying to wander around in a group, and one of the crazy girls had followed him into the *boy's bathroom*. There was just so much wrong with that. Anyway. He'd been skittish because of that and because of the looming threat of *something* happening on his birthday. Something in the form of Niou dumping a box of whipped cream over his head (he'd done that on Marui's birthday) or Yanagi manipulating Kirihara's teacher into giving a pop quiz during English (like he had done on Niou's birthday) or Sanada dragging him into the dojo for 'birthday spankings' (like what had happened on Yukimura's birthday, except Kirihara was pretty sure Sanada was the one who got spanked).
So, see, Kirihara had a lot to fear. At least he knew he was going to get treated to dinner (Jackal) and cake (Marui) and that by the time he got home his stupid sister (stupid) would have gone out to party with her boyfriend. He'd accidentally (totally an accident) died all of his sister's white clothes grey the day before, and she was pissed at him. So any avoiding her was good avoiding her.
Of course, Kirihara had forgotten one of the most important Rikkai birthday traditions (besides the part where they all gave him *presents*). "Laps?" Kirihara yelped, darting away from buchou to hide behind Yanagi. "But I haven't done anything wrong!"
"They're birthday laps, Akaya." Yukimura said, and Sanada reached around Yanagi to drag Kirihara out and dump him down in front of Yukimura. "It's your birthday today."
"But buchou~~~~~…" Kirihara whined and wheedled. Buchou thought he was cute. He could totally get out of this… right?
"TARONDAROU." Sanada boomed, taking a step forward and swinging his hand back in a manner than had Kirihara bolting to start his first lap. Kirihara ignored (or didn't hear) the quiet comment that was said in his wake.
"Genichirou, I thought birthday spankings were just for me."
