The news have been broken.
My parents took it very well (though apparently Dad guessed the last time he saw her, and Mom had an inkling, and then got a clue when she found the directions about what to do before the ultrasound) and we are all still alive.
...all in all a very unthrilling second chapter of our book. Which apparently My sister and I are writing.
