kat8chaYuuji might be the one who was emotionally invested (some would say obsessed), but it was Koharu who always initiated things. When Osamu had told them to pair up it was Koharu who'd taken it to the extreme, Koharu who'd come up with the idea to play with being 'gay'. Yuuji *was* gay, but he didn't really feel safe breaking that to Koharu. Not at first. And after a while he figured Koharu just *knew*. After all, Koharu was gay. That was obvious. Well, he liked to *touch* Yuuji.
Nothing like that. He just liked to hold hands, or wrap his arms around Yuuji's shoulders. Casual things when they weren't on the courts or in front of people. When they were in front of people it got worse…
Which was why it made sense that they kissed in the middle of eating out with the team. Yuuji hadn't seen it coming. First they'd been toothpick dueling for the last takiyaki ball, then the takiyaki had slipped, and Yuuji had slipped forward, and there was Koharu with a knowing smirk and pursed lips…
So their first kiss MIGHT have been an accident… but considering the way Koharu played it up afterwards Yuuji bet he'd planned it all out in that genius brain of his.
