May. 7th, 2009 03:41 amWhen Sam finally picks up his cell phone Erik makes sure the first thing he hears is the last thing he expects. Erik likes surprising Sam. "I told Sarah about us."
The lag between Sam hearing the words and his sleepy brain computing them is an obvious 5 seconds of dead silence. "…about us? What is there to tell?" Erik's spent, self confessed, years trying to figure Sam out and he just… can't. He's not sure if Sam cares about what others think of their relationship or not.
"Just how we got together." Erik explains, snapping the lid on his tall mint chocolate mocha frapp. "Nothing serious."
Certainly not about the fact that 'getting together' had actually involved a fair bit of emotional and real blackmail, and that it had started off with Erik jerking Sam off in a hospital bed.
Sam yawns. "Are you going to bring me flowers? My hospital room is lonely."
"You won't be there long." Erik assures both himself and Sam. "Keep it in mind the next time Jay dares you to eat a tuna sandwich of indeterminate age."
"Wasn't Jay." Sam muttered against the mouthpiece. "It was Metis' sandwich. Or maybe it was Charles'."
