Matthew was rather sure that sitting next to his brother in a packed theater while perhaps a hundred people clung to their seats was not how he wanted to spend a Saturday afternoon. That and the fact that the movie was… was… well, not drivel, but… Romeo and Juliet, on a ship, a ship that you all KNEW was going to sink. It was the Titanic!
"Go Rose!" Alfred was on the edge of his seat as well, and had to be shushed several times by fellow movie goers. Up until last week Alfred had been making snide comments about 'Cameron's Folly' and how the movie was going to flop, but then opening day happened… "Life happily ever after!"
"…" Matthew turned away from the scene, whatever it was, and stared at Alfred. "…you do know the boat sinks, correct?"
Alfred's head whipped around and he stared at Matthew. "THE BOAT SINKS?!?!?"
"Excuse me, gentleman." A flashlight shone into their faces, and several movie goers made snide comments about it being 'about time'. "Please come with me."
"Kicked out of a movie theater." Alfred groused, gathering his jacket around him. Matthew was actually rather warm, compared to Canada in December this was nothing. "I can't believe you got me kicked out of a movie theatre!"
"…I wasn't the one shouting." Matthew muttered, kicking at a loose stone. He would never hear the end of it.
Alfred huffed, his breath forming a cloud in front of his face and briefly fogging his glasses. "I can't believe you ruined the ending!"
"I can't believe you didn't know the boat sank! It's the Titanic!"
"Well if it sank it never made it to America! How was I supposed to know!" Alfred flailed madly and Matthew was forced to duck to the side to avoid Alfred's whirling arms.
"How w-" Matthew cut himself off. Sometimes Alfred's inability to focus beyond himself was… very frustrating. "How many movies have you made about the Titanic?"
"Mmm…. 7? Last year there was that made for TV movie with Catherine Zeta Jones. Wait! Eight, I always forget about A Night to Remember because it doesn't have 'Titanic' in the title." Alfred laughed, heartily.
"…Then how did you not know the boat sank?"
Alfred gaped at Matthew. "I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU GAVE AWAY THE ENDING!"
