Dec. 20th, 2008 11:04 pmWELL. Today got off to an AUSPICIOUS start when Mom managed to upset the only other awake family members in the house
AND drive me to tears. -_-
Wasn't really Mom's fault b/c she's been cranky lately and the fact that most of the family wasn't going to be here for the 'family dinner' she had (poorly) planned...
Me: I TOLD you I was going to be babysitting.
Mom: ~YELLS ABOUT ME NOT PUTTING IT ON THE CALENDAR-
Note, the calendar she never uses any more
-YELLS AT ME ABOUT MENTIONING IT WHEN SHE IS IN THE MIDDLE OF THINGS-
Note, I only mention it when she brings up the Saturday dinner. Which was when I would say 'mom, bbsitting Saturday'.
Oh, and then when I tried to leave the roomm, b/c hey I'm CRYING and UPSET and it is NOT MY FREAKING FAULT she blocks my path and yells at me some more b/c I'm over emotional and it's not HER fault I'm upset and HAVE I TAKEN ANYTHING FOR IT (b/c obviously if I'm upset enough to cry I should be downing pain pills b/c OMG oncoming migraine and OBVIOUSLY yelling at me more will help).
:D It was a GREAT way to start the day! Especially since today was the type of day where I AM going to cry about those things. B/c yes, there was a migraine brewing, and oh my gosh, it didn't start until AFTER I got upset and cried, and maybe there was a REASON I was trying to avoid conflict today?
-_- Great start to the holidays. Really.
Marian and I made cookies then! (Well, after I calmed down and my Mom busied herself with other things, like rearranging the closet.) Marian was halfway through the Martha Stewart cookies when I got down. XD They were... interesting, not bad. XD But not as EXCELLANT as celebration cookies. And then we made gingerbread dough, which was fun.
Marian: ~dumps a bunch of uncut butter in the big mixing bowl and some brown sugar~
Me: ...~is supposed to cream this~ ...~no wonder Marian made a mess before~
Note, creaming butter and sugar should be done in a SMALL bowl, it's best if the butter is room temperature and cut up.
And by this time Juliet had gotten up, and come downstairs, though I didn't get her dressed until Marian and I had baked the cookies and needed her to ice them. XD (I held her cellphone hostage) Marian and I? Not artistically inclined... though I'm pretty sure my cookies look better than Juliet's, for the sheer reason that she iced some INTERESTING designs... very modern art. XD; I'm a cookie icing purist. ONE COLOR ICING PER COOKIE. CHRISTMAS TREES SHOULD BE GREEN OR WHITE ICED, NOT RED. >|
XD It was fun at least. Of course we made the gingerbread cookies after and man... they came out... XD When we iced them, they turned TERRIBLE. XD IT was HILARIOUS. I mean, even when they came with PREMADE HOLES TO AIM FOR. Marian was pretty bad about it. XD I just filled the little eye and button holes with icing. But then again, Marian was having fun making deformed faces on the ginger bread bears.
Then we had Matt and Maggie come over, Maggie back from Boston, for spaghetti. Maggie was, of course, upset that Juliet and I would be LEAVING. B/c OMG It was supposed to be a FAMILY DINNER.
>> Not like anyone'll be home for a family dinner tomorrow either. Mom'll be eating al- ...:| Aw man, I dun wanna make mom eat alone, but I do want to go down to Chagrin for Dad, Tricia, and Jon's concert. ...though mainly that's for the ribs afterwards, and the wandering the town with Juliet before.

And man,I didn't even THINK of KHR while we were doing it. I'm PROUD of myself for divorcing myself from fandom for a day!
