kat8chaSo, I introduced Mummy to steampunk today.
I was sitting at Dinner talking about how I wanted to go see Repo @ Cedar Lee (and goddammit I WILL go even if I have to GO ALONE and it will CREEP ME OUT) and I was trying to explain it to Mom. I already talked about my love of Post-apocalyptic universes with Mummy when Mom walked in on me and Reign of Fire.
Me: Post-apocalyptic AU's are-
Mom: AU?
Me: Alternate Universes. Anyway, they're set after an apocalyptic event (like say a Zombie invasion, or aliens attack, or plague, or just the world collapsing) and focus on how people fight to survive. SOMETIMES they have people conquer whatever caused the 'apocalypse'.
So I'm talking about Repo, saying how it's like 'post-apocalyptic' and how it's gothic, and how it reminded me vaguely of steampunk.
Mom: Steampunk?
Me: ...errrrrrr. FUCK THIS IS HARD TO EXPLAIN
So I wikipediad and showed her and told her all about it and she was like 'iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinteresting'
So now I wanna stalk down a good steampunk movie and show mummy what it's all about.
