kat8chaI'll admit. I've been spoiled.
I wonder when I see these things if the people who are doing them are new to the game, but generally they aren't. There are repeat offenders, who never seem to grow. It might just be a matter of me not giving them time (I am impatient) and I know that it took a while for myself to grow. I think part of my problem is my issues were worked out by first functioning in a small community before testing my toes in a larger community. I did instantly fall in with the bad sort, putting up with a bunch of stuff that I'm right now complaining about, but I moved around and dealt with my issues. I grew (or so I would hope).
The problem is, I'm still a part of my small community. Gradually we have grown, but we're still small. We're also elitists, which always makes me feel a little bad. Though when we find someone entertaining we do tend to foster them.
But it's just the sheer amount of BAD sometimes that overpowers the GOOD. >_<
