Sengoku was, officially, abstaining from partying.
Sengoku was, officially, abstaining from partying.
This meant he was spending a lot of time in his room with his door locked and headphones over his ears as he attempted to ignore the noise of parties from down the hall. Sengoku was mourning both the death of one of his best friends, and the missed opportunity to flirt with all those cute girls. Still it seemed really wrong to go to a party when his friends ashes were sitting in a corner of his apartment radiating gloom.
Sengoku was still trying to figure out why he got the ashes instead of Minami’s parents.
Sighing Sengoku tossed his headphones away and lay down on the tatami. “Unlucky…” Maybe Minami’s ashes would not mind if Sengoku went out and partied? They were only ashes after all.
Suddenly someone began pounding on his door. Sengoku perked. If there was a problem the ashes would definitely forgive him! Lucky! Practically skipping to the door Sengoku did not bother to check the peep hole before pulling the door open. “He-egha?” Sengoku choked on his greeting as his train of though experienced a violent and undeniable crash. Standing in front of him was someone who should be lurking in ash form just ten feet away. “Ngnan?”
The train wreck seemed to be causing Sengoku’s mouth to malfunction.
Minami’s corpse gave Sengoku a strange look. “Sengoku, I did not know where to go! I woke up in a strange place and they had all my clothes so I could not go back to my apartment. Can I come in?”
Sengoku backed away from the doorway, nodding several times. Of course Minami could come in. Minami was already in wasn’t he? Minami’s ashes were sitting right there after all. “Wha-how…” Sengoku closed the door as Minami toed off his shoes. “I identified your body!”
Sengoku had. The police had called him down and it had been official and everything. Minami’s parents had not made it until after the cremation, which was conducted in a very hush-hush manner.
“Identified my…” Minami was too pale to pale, in fact Minami looked almost as dead as he had on the slab. Only the obvious intellect in his eyes and the fact that he was moving convinced Sengoku otherwise. Though Sengoku could be hallucinating… “My body?”
