Hiyoshi stepped over Jirou in order to get to the prisoners cell.
Jirou was camped out on ‘watch’ which was basically an excuse for him to sleep in the middle of the hallway. Kabaji did not even glance Hiyoshi’s way when Hiyoshi opened the cell door, Kabaji’s eyes trained on the monitor showing the inside of the cell the entire time.
Kai looked up from the table, one eyebrow rising in mild surprise. “Well, you don’t look like one of Rokkaku.”
Hiyoshi ignored the vague mental jab Kai made at him and calmly closed the heavy cell door behind him. “That would be because I am not.”
Kai snorted and leaned back in his chair. “Neither were those goons who carted me off here. So, whose control am I under now?”
Hiyoshi planted the plain manila folder on the table, flipping it open and handing it to Kai to read. He stayed silent, Kai giving up the staring contest and vague mental pokes to instead turn his attention to the folder in front of him. Seconds after Kai began reading anger and surprise sparked off him loud enough to make Hiyoshi wince.
“What the fuck! What the fuck is this shit?” Kai reached across the table and grabbed Hiyoshi’s shirt. Hiyoshi focused on radiating calm, unsurprised when Kai shook it off and clenched his fingers tighter in Hiyoshi’s shirt. Anger was always the toughest emotion to calm someone down from.
“That is Hyotei’s pact with your team.” Hiyoshi was not about to get intimidated by some giant cocker spaniel shaking him. “It is why you’re going to be released shortly.”
Kai dropped Hiyoshi back into his chair and strode away. “Fuck this shit. What you think anyone is going to be okay with this?”
Hiyoshi adjusted his shirt, frowning a little at the thought that Gakuto was going to mock his inability to control Kai. But there was a reason Hiyoshi was in their and not Gakuto. Mainly because Gakuto did not want to deal with Kai.
“We will make them okay with it.”
Kai leaned against the cells wall with a snort. “Right, Hyotei, the all mighty emotional manipulators. There are psychics out there who can resist you I’m sure.”
Hiyoshi stood and pushed his chair back up against the table. He gave Kai a thin lipped smirk. “It’s not them we have to worry about.” After all, there was a reason Hyotei was gaining control of Higa.
Kai’s eyes widened a little, and Hiyoshi turned away to make his way to the cell door.
“Sakaki planned all of this?” Kai questioned when Hiyoshi was about to rap on the door to be let out. Hiyoshi knocked twice to signal Kabaji to let him out and gave Kai a shrug.
“Who knows?”
