Jackal glanced between where Yukimura was now playing Yanagi, the ball racheting back and forth as Sanada watched like a hawk. “No deal.” Jackal signaled for Bunta to get his head in the game and face off against him, pulling a ball out of his pocket and serving. “FIYAH!”
Bunta twitched as he ran up to begin his volleying. “That’s really annoying you know. And hey, why not?”
“You know you love it.” Jackal retorted, diving at the net to return Marui’s tsunawatari. “And I’m not betting because you know Yukimura, and I know Yukimura, and Yanagi can’t possibly have enough willpower to hold out over a week.”
Marui frowned when Jackal easily scored a point. “Yeah, but I also know that Kirihara’s going to start bugging Yanagi about something, and Yanagi’s gonna get occupied and… hey, I’ll bet you five bentos that Yanagi’s not sleeping with Yukimura by the end of the week.”
Jackal laughed. “No bet, genius.”
Marui shrugged, grinning as he blew another bubble. Apple flavored gum was the best. “Okay, but you still have to take me out for cake today.”
