Itsuki knocked timidly on the door to Davide and Saeki's apartment. He was running late tonight because he'd run into a few groups of people on his way off campus and had to extract himself from them. It was funny that everyone seemed to want to talk to him, but Itsuki figured it had to do with them thinking he was funny, and the amount of alchohol they had consumed. It probably had little to do with them finding the discussions Itsuki had with the philosophy professor interesting.
Waiting a few seconds Itsuki knocked again. There was a muffled curse and the sound of someone stumbling over things as they got to the door. Itsuki gave a short wave, he figured someone was peeking through the peep hole, and then waited for whoever was inside the apartment to unlock the door.
Davide peeped around the door as he pulled it open. The tall man surreptitiously wiped at the dried drool on the corner of his chin, like Itsuki hadn't seen it. "Ittchan."
"Why's your hair messed up?" Itsuki walked into the apartment when Davide motioned him inside. Moving to the kitchen, he was an old hat at maneuvering around Davide and Saeki's (mostly Davide's) mess. "Did you fall asleep studying again, Davide?"
Davide shrugged, a silent presence behind Itsuki as Itsuki unpacked a few containers and stashed them in the fridge and freezer. Itsuki liked cooking for Saeki and Davide, he liked cooking in general, but he really wished that he didn't have to do Saeki and Davide's dishes as well. Turning on the hot water Itsuki clogged the sink and poured in some soap. Davide moved forward, brushing past Itsuki in the small kitchen and picking up a towel.
"…." Itsuki glanced at Davide questioningly, but the other buy just shrugged. Davide had never offered to help before. Deciding not to ask Itsuki started cleaning the dirty dishes, passing them over to Davide to dry. The two worked in silence, a habit between them. It was odd, because Itsuki liked the ask questions but generally didn't talk besides that, and Davide liked to make puns, but was also a quiet person. Itsuki and Davide never really felt the need to talk to each other.
"I saw Bane-san yesterday," Itsuki stated, the same time Davide asked; "Do you think Saeki-san likes guys?"
Both of them paused, their hands stopping in the motions of washing and drying the dishes as they silent turned to stare at each other with wide eyes.
"Why?" Itsuki asked, finally breaking the silence. Davide blushed, stared at his hands, and then stared at his feet when he set the dish he was drying aside.
"Love means never scoring."
