Sep. 7th, 2007 11:20 pmChitose's heart and chest seized up as he dragged himself into the land of the living.
Blinking blearily at the ceiling Chitose groaned and turned onto his left side. Closing his eyes Chitose went through three different meditation rituals before giving up and turning onto his back again. He hated being unable to sleep, and after a dream that left him shaking and shivering and shit scared of some phantom menace. Glancing at the clock Chitose groaned at the time.
2:30 was a crappy time in the morning to be experiencing insomnia.
Reaching over onto his dresser Chitose held up his cellphone. Flipping the phone open Chitose stared at the glowing LED screen before flipping the phone closed again. Chitose had a tried and true method for getting back to sleep on nights like this, but he hadn't used it since moving out of Kyuushu. There had been that one call when he was just out of the hospital where no one had picked up…
"Well. Nothing's going to change if I don't call him." Chitose flipped the phone open and slid through the address book. Clicking on a familiar name Chitose pressed send and pressed the phone to his ear.
One ring… two rings… three rings…
Chitose bit back a very uncharacteristic impatient sound before the rings stopped. "Hello?" A groggy voice questioned.
"Hey. Kippei." Chitose grinned, his shoulders automatically un-tensing and his body relaxing back into the bed.
"Senri?" Tachibana's voice sounded so confused and sleepy, and just so utterly adorable. Chitose imagined Tachibana furrowing his eyebrows while he blinked sleep crusted eyes.
"Shush Kippei, just breath." Chitose took a deep breath in time with Tachibana's. Before he closed his eyes Chitose smiled. "Just breath. We'll talk about it in the morning."
"You're so weird Senri." Tachibana growled, but complied with Chitose's request.
Chitose was never so glad he had free night and weekend minutes before.
