kat8chaGUESS WHAT. WE'RE ILLEGAL. ><;;; C'mon, that's not exactly news. We just don't think we should be persecuted. It's the internet man. I HAPPEN TO LIKE MY LITERARY PORN KTHX. -_-
That said.... I don't plan to leave. I don't plan to back up. If I did I wouldn't know where to go. So many people are headed for GJ. I hate GJ. I've played and done stuff on GJ and it drives me bug fucking nuts. I hate the layout. I hate how it looks. I hate the feel. I LIKE LJ dammit. SixApart is doing their best. They could do better, and fuck it all, they could do a hell of a lot worse. They're not the most intelligent people ever, they're not the most trustworthy, but they're a HUGE company.
Okay, guys, who among us has had an icon ripped, or a layout, or an image, or a fic, or an idea, and gone OMGWTFBBQ MINE? Because hey, that's what people do, and that's why fanfiction is such a leery gray zone of legality. Some people say 'awesome go forth and fuck like rabbits you fans you' but most go, to quote Shatner, 'get a life'. We're insane people, we're fans, we cling to ideas and ideals and characters and random snippets of conversation. We nitpick. We're have ship wars for god sake. People don't understand us. It's not a surprise, it's not new. But we're growing, and so things that were previously ignored and things that weren't seen *are being seen*. Fanfiction.net kicked all the NC-17 stuff off their site, AFF.net now makes you sign a document saying you're over 18, people are friend locking, creating sites where to access their porn you have to send them an email and tell they you're 18 and they'll give you the password to see their fics. We have ot be CAREFUL. That doesn't mean we can't be us.
But hey, I shouldn't say anything, as I'm not careful. I rarely friend lock, certainly don't private my entries, and I'm not backing up my journal by moving to greatest journal or insane journal or... anywhere else. I don't see why I should. It's not like we're any less accepted then we were before. We're just being noticed now that's all.
...... that said. .... I don't think I said anything new or noteworthy. Ignore this post. ~SIGH~ I'll prolly spam you all with drabbles if I can summon up the urge.
