While Eiji had always been a glass half full person, Oishi feared he had always been someone who saw the glass as half empty.
Just in case.
It wasn't that Oishi was a pessimist, he considered himself a realist that was all. Oishi liked to worry too, which wasn't pessimistic he just wanted to be sure he was prepared for anything that might go wrong. For instance, if the glass is half full you don't worry about it becoming empty, but if the glass is half empty… well obviously it's a valid fear you see? Oishi worried about a lot of things. He worried about Tezuka's shoulder, and Eiji's grades, he worried about Ryoma's terseness and inability to make close friends, and whether Momo and Kaidoh would really kill each other one of these days. Oishi worried himself up one wall and down another, and eventually was told to stop worrying by the family doctor or he'd get an ulcer.
They had medications for ulcers, but Oishi couldn't stop his worrying.
As much as he worried though Oishi never expected bad things to happen but he was always prepared if something should go wrong.
