kat8chaOkay people. I am in a CRISIS. Except... totally not.
Okay, tomorrow I've got babysitting at 3. I figured 'hey, this is the family by the shopping center. Go early, stop at the Borders and buy a book or two'.
Problem 1 - I don't spend money on real books. Not that I don't read them, I just let Mom buy them and then I steal them for a few days.
Problem 2 - I am so out of the loop on good sci-fi/fantasy books. There are a couple of books I know I need to pick up (Good Omens, by Terry Prachet and Neil Gaiman, and Silverthorn by Raymond Feist being two) and I might do that, not sure, but there's nothing new there. I'd like some new authors, someone who I might end up stalking and will drag me away from Manga for a while.
Problem 3 - The manga I'm looking forward to? Well, Borders still doesn't have Love Pistols in stock (if someone up there loved me someone would call me tomorrow morning saying that it was there) nor do they have Angel Diary Vol. 6. The latest XXXHolic doesn't come out till the end of the month, and One Thousand and One Nights Vol. 4 exists, but not at Borders, and I'm up to date on Yubisaki Milk Tea. I refuse to buy VIZ's translations because every time I do I never read them and I end up CRINGING. I might buy Saiyuki (I have no idea what happened to the first volume and I apparently never bought 7) or Saiyuki Reload (if there's a new ones).
So the question is...
Anyone have any suggestions for manga I might enjoy or scifi/fantasy?
