So it's kind of hard for me to take my Dating and Intimacy class seriously. It think it's because at the notion of 'intimacy' we all giggle like giddy school girls and hide our faces.

The word 'intimacy' started out as a euphemism for illicit sexy times, so that's understandable, but still it's evolved to have a deeper meaning then all that.

So far this class has talked about 'intimate relationships' and what forms them, and it's the type of stuff that makes me go 'huh' and look at my relationships with all you guys. We might not know each other RL, but that doesn't stop my relationships with you from being any less deep. In fact, because of the intellectual and emotional boundaries you can transcend by using the internet as a means of interaction I think it has helped deepen friendships.

It talks about levels of intimacy by using phrases like 'openness' and 'breadth' and 'depth' and I'm like '...those words make NO SENSE unless they're used contextually!'
