(no subject)
Apr. 6th, 2005 04:09 amTitle: Born in the Right Century
Pairing: Now that would be telling wouldn't it? ~giggle~ Spike/Xander predominant with slight Aus/X, Dru/X, Darla/X, Willow/X(UST) and other relationships yet to be decided.
Rating: Right now? PG-13. Later, er... maybe R/NC-17
Author's Notes: Still no smut. ~sighs~ Next chapter hopefully. This chapter's fairly short but had to be gotten out of the way. Hopefully no one will kill me too much.
Xander blinked. This *definitely* did not look similar to anywhere he had been before. It was a big black void with the light centered around him, and while he saw nothing under him it felt solid enough. “This is limbo.” A soft, feminine voice stated and another figure made its way over to him, coated in its own aura of soft light.
“Like the place you go when you’ve died?” A giggle from the approaching woman and Xander placed the voice. “DRUSILLA!?!?!?” He squeaked.
“Almost, but not the Drusilla you know.” The figure had finally made its way too him and Xander could see that it *wasn’t* the Dru he knew. For one thing, she was clad in a ‘nun suit’ and her eyes were filled with something that Xander could only label as sanity. “I’m… more like Miss Edith.”
“The DOLL?” Xander asked, as he stood too and looked down at himself. He was clad in jeans and one of his favorite outfits, a blue shirt under a white button down. The same outfit he had worn the day he met Buffy. “Er, okay. Where are we?”
“Limbo, or a state of it. I have yet to figure it out. Here,” And suddenly they were in a room that looked more like one of the parlor’s of Alexander’s contemporaries then anything else. “Let me explain.”
“When Drusilla was turned I… stuck around. Or at least, a little bit of me. I’m the connection to her visions and when Angelus turned her I was hidden inside her mind already, because she was already beginning to lose it. So when the soul disappeared I stuck it through. I think that’s why William retains so much of himself, because I was not truly soulless when I killed him.”
“You mean, Williams still himself? He has a soul, er, part of one?” Xander sat up straighter. After all he had been friends with William it was only right to enquire into his state of being. Drusilla laughed, and her eyes held kindness.
“Yes. Part of one. But he will hide that if you don’t stick around Alexander. I can see that without your kindness he will become the person you knew in your other life, oh yes I know all about that. It’s why you’re here after all.” Xander shrunk back against the chair slightly he had not wanted anyone to know about his life in the future.
“Alexander, Angelus will turn you. You are to become a vampire. But you *cannot* allow one of the Aurelius line to have foreknowledge of the future. While Drusilla has visions *I* control them. But I warn you, if you take the same route I did, then I fear you too will be plagued with visions. You have the ability it is simply suppressed.” Drusilla stated and leaned forward, forcing Xander to look into his eyes.
“I’m afraid the choice is yours.”
Drusilla’s eyes flashed open just as Angelus removed his wrist from her fangs. She smiled, and it was a ghastly image with her blood covered mouth game face still present. Rolling over she gazed lovingly at the still comatose Alexander. “Daddy quick! You must turn the kitten. He has power daddy! Power like mine, but he’s keeping it lock-locked up! We have to help him set it free Daddy!” Angelus turned to Darla, whose eyes had begun to glitter with a thirst for power and William whose eyes pleaded with him to bring Alexander into their home. Darla wanted the boy for his visions, and for the prestige untouchably, but it was William who wanted the boy for himself. Angelus would see to it that William *got* Alexander and no one else. Turning to the dark haired child laid out on the bed he changed into game-face and began to feed.
