Hiyoshi glared at his cellphone, flipping through the options to change his ringtone.

The one he had was annoying and was the entire reason he was laid up his couch; his ankle resting on a pillow, and a bag of ice covered in a towel on top of his ankle. Well, his ring tone and his absolutely annoying senpai.

And Ohtori. Hiyoshi couldn’t forget Ohtori’s fault in all of this.

“Waka-chan!” Hiyoshi gave Shishido, who snickered, a glare before he answered his mother.

“Yes Mom?” Ohtori was squirming in Hiyoshi’s dad’s favorite armchair. Ohtori had carried him home from the street courts after the accident. Hiyoshi’s mother appeared in the doorway to the kitchen wiping her hands off with a towel.

“Aren’t you going to invite your friends to dinner?” Hiyoshi ground his teeth, but turned to Shishido and Ohtori.

“Would you two like to stay for dinner?” Hiyoshi gritted out, and barely suppressed a wince when his mother cleared her throat. “It’s the least I can do, especially after causing you so much trouble.” The words were learned by rote, and recited without much feeling.

“Sure Wakashi.” Shishido poked Ohtori in the side and the tall second year nodded. “We’d love to stay.”

“I’ll make some more rice.” Hiyoshi waited until he felt his mother wasn’t in the vicinity before leaning over the coffee table to hiss.

“Any of you mentions how I sprained my ankle and I’ll show you a side of genbujutsu you’ve never seen.”
