Dec. 21st, 2006 07:33 amEragon - not worth 6 dollars. Not even for mocking. Not even for the giggles from "I expected something... ~eyes move up and down~ more." Or the smexy angst muffin, because hey, he's not a MAJOR CHARACTER with a BIG IMPACT on Eragon's life, and there isn't TRAGIC BACKSTORY or ANYTHING. Let's mention his name... once. And have him appear in the last 40 minutes. Right before the big battle scene! I can't even remember why the Varden people locked Murtagh up. (Oh, and apparently Black people = Dwarves. Or something. >_< ) Like, .... yeah.
The movie couldn't decide if it wanted to be night or day, as in, the night scenes were very few, and it was almost instantly Day! The lines of the movie... god, some of them were like RIPPED from Star Wars or HP or something. Murtagh.... ah Murtagh. They..... I can't even say it. I was hoping this movie did what LoTR and HP did and inspired more slash fics in the fandom. Sadly.... not happening. Though Murtagh's hot. Eragon is... really clean. Honest. he stays clean THE ENTIRE MOVIE. Like... no stubble, no dirt, no shadowing of his face, no ash, his hair like never changes style. Murtagh gets dirty.
The plot was worse then the book. I mean, okay, the book had some decent parts. And hey, it was written by a teenager. But the movie.... it's the equal of a large mean inmate buttraping his skinny, sneaky, snobby but likable roommate. The acting was good though, I have no fault with the casting of the movie, and Saphira was CUUUUUUUUUTE, and the effects were pretty cool. The soundtrack was... typical, and the scenic shots were annoying. I mean, forest, mountain, more mountain, not mountain..... >> Brom, while being Captain Backstory, was well voiced... he didn't really develop as a character. Neither did Saphira. Hell, neither did Eragon. (And I'm not even STARTING on the elf chick, who had more screen time then Murtagh but less point I feel) Murtagh did get to show off his awesome archer skills. ...like, twice.
I did get to see Kelli manning the ticket counter though. ^^ I wonder if the not-so-mine group will try to get together for the holiday's. Ah well, she looks good.
