Dec. 17th, 2010 10:37 pmSo, last night I had the *weirdest* dream. For one thing, I think it started when I was half awake. Like, I was half-awake at like 3 or 4 in the morning and the house sounded wrong to me, and I *thought* that, and in my dream-state I tried to move but I hit something hard. Like my arms hit something hard above me but there was nothing there. Then I started sliding my hands over the hardness (...shut up) and realized I was touching someone's arms and the 'ghost' materialized above me? And... yeah, I don't remember it very well now but I totally banged them.
And then like, instead of it being me in bed with the ghost it was Roy? And Ollie was there for some reason. Not having sex, but he tucked Roy into bed and like, glared at the ghost at one point.
And Diana was undercover as a prostitute, and Bruce was her pimp.
So, I made Christmas cookies today! Celebration cookies, which if any of you were on my blog the last time I talked about it you know they're basically sugar cookies with a little extra.
Well they've been voted the best Celebration cookies in recent years and my dad decided they shouldn't be iced. And I agree, icing would ruin the cookies.

Even my shirt agrees.
I know I've shared this before, but I'm sure there are people here on my flist who weren't around before or who didn't care before and... well, also, I didn't tag that post, and when I move away I'll lose the recipe! Hence, tagged post this time around!
Cream:
1 cup butter/margarine
1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
(I used salted sweet cream land o'lakes butter, generally I try for unsalted when baking but this didn't specify and it DID say you could use magarine, which is usually salty.)
Add:
2 well beaten eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
4 tbsp. Brandy
(You can use regular or imitation vanilla, but regular is *always* better. And as for the brand anything'll do. In fact, the cheaper the better because the taste sticks around longer.
Also, I hate creaming, so I generally add in the eggs with the butter/sugar so that it mixes up faster.)
Sift and Add:
3 cups flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
(I'm going to be honest, we never sift in our family.)
Add:
1 cup finely chopped almonds.
(Almond meal is fine, that's what we use generally.)
Chill at least 4 hours.
The recipe says that you can add more flour to make the dough stiffer but I've found I use a hell of a lot of flour in the rolling out process. This dough is *fucking sticky*. If you don't end up with your cookies sticking to the cutting board at least once you must be a god. (I actually thought about using a silplat but...)
Anyway, roll out the dough to desired thickness and cut into shapes! Cook for 10 minutes at 375 degrees.
