There were few things in the world that upset Tajima.
Forgetting to masturbate upset him, sure, but he got over it. Or, you know, got his hand in his pants and fixed the problem. That was generally how he handled things that bothered him; he just went ahead and HANDLED them. Difficult pitch? Tajima could hit it. There wasn't anything Tajima couldn't hit. Touch catch? Tajima could catch it, he WOULD catch it, he was positive he could catch anything.
But there were something that got under Tajima's skin and itched until he felt like taking his skin off with his grandfather's backscratcher, there were some things that Tajima just could not get a handle on.
Like Hanai.
Hanai was a nice guy, he played good baseball, and he was a good captain. But he was… he was just THAT. Just a good guy! And he worried so much.
It annoyed Tajima because he wanted to compete. He wanted Hanai's strength and height and he wanted to force all the awesome skill that Tajima KNEW Hanai had out of Hanai. Like Momokan squeezing an orange for its juice. But Tajima couldn't do that because Hanai was kind of thick, and maybe a little dim, even though he got way better grades than Tajima.
He just didn't understand.
And that irritated Tajima. A lot.
