Kite really, really, really, really hated Kyushu. He hated Kyushu with a deep and burning hatred that he had never hated Okinawa… but almost as much as he disliked Tokyo. Still, hate and dislike were different. Kyushu, Kite hated. He hated the way the heat and humidity collected with the smell of humanity and the hot scent of buildings. Bricks radiated the smell of hot stones, and the wooden floors were too warm, they did not drain away the heat. Kite hated the bugs, the flies, the mosquitos, the butterflies. Kite hated the way the heat and humidity made him sweat, and ruined his hair style.
"Eishirou." Chinen's hair was lank and sweaty too. "Are you ready to go back inside?"
Kite bit back a groan.
He hated monks too. The next time he smashed a tennis ball into an old guy's eye? The guy was going to be a monk. "We're hitchhiking again tomorrow. Be ready."
