kat8chaAiba stepped out of the theatre and stretched, Aiba's shirt rode up as he leaned backwards, and a cool breeze brushed against the bared inch of Aiba's stomach. Shivering slightly Aiba tugged his shirt down and began buttoning his coat. Fall was beginning to give the air a bite, and the rehearsal had run late enough that the sky was pitch black and Aiba could almost see stars. Stuffing one hand into his pocket to brush his cellphone Aiba thought about calling a taxi. The walk to the station wasn't too far, but Nagayama had said there were dangerous people around right now.
Not that Aiba was going to be in danger from the mob, but it was nice of Nagayama to think of him. Just like it had been nice of Nagayama to send him a fruit basket for his birthday.
"Aibachii!" Aiba turned when he heard a familiar voice and smiled. That was a familiar voice, and Shirota's tan trench coat billowed as Shirota jogged over. "Hey."
Aiba frowned slightly and pulled out his cellphone, turning away from Shirota and his hopefully smiling face. Flipping the phone open Aiba started flipping through his contacts list.
"Eh?" Shirota sounded confused, and Aiba started walking for the station. Seconds later Shirota's footsteps echoed Aiba's. "Aibachii! Are you mad? What did I do?"
Aiba wasn't going to say anything. If the big idiot was going to forget his birthday Aiba was hardly going to remind him.
"To think I got off work early just to take you to dinner!" Aiba stopped. Shirota stopped. Aiba looked over his shoulder.
"Dinner?" Aiba sounded suspicious, but he put his phone back in his pocket without dialing Irei.
"For your birthday." Shirota's tone was pouty, but his eyes were dancing with mirth. "Do you think you can forgive me long enough to eat?"
Aiba looked at his wrist, remembering that he hadn't worn a watch since his watch broke during the… incident. "It's probably more like breakfast time, but dinner sounds alright. Where too?"
