Akutsu had gone upstairs to get his keys and Chinen was left sitting across from Yuuki. Yuuki was sipping a cup of tea, at least Chinen was pretty sure it was tea, and looking faintly cross.
“That things a death trap.” She stated calmly. “You boys are both going to get killed one of these days.”
Chinen thought about the number of accidents that Akutsu and he had almost gotten into. “Akutsu’s a careful driver.” Chinen said slowly, pretending he didn’t hear Yuuki’s snort. “Yuuki-san you’re looking radiant today, did you do something different?” Like die her hair. Chinen still couldn’t believe that Akutsu’s mom was so young, and so young looking! Her hair was fantastic too, silky soft and with just the right amount of bounce to it.
Yuuki smiled before setting the cup of tea on the low table between them. “Thank you Chinen-kun. And yes, yesterday I took a sake bath.”
Chinen raised one eyebrow. “Really?” Chinen had heard that sake baths worked wonders, everyone who had gone to Higa middle and high school followed the latest beauty trends, but it was too expensive for him to consider.
“Once a month I treat myself.” Yuuki nodded, holding out her arm for Chinen to touch. Chinen did, after a moment of hesitation. Yuuki’s skin really was smooth and youthful to the touch, and almost as white as Akutsu’s. “I use up a whole sake bottle.”
“Woman!” Akutsu snapped from the doorway. “That’s a waste of good sake!”
Yuuki pulled her arm back, snatching up one of the throw pillows and tossing it at Akutsu’s head. “It’d be a waste if you drank it too! You have no taste!”
Akutsu smacked the pillow away. Striding over to them he snagged Chinen’s wrist and began pulling him through the door. “We’re going now!”
“You better be back by sunrise!” Yuuki shouted. “BYE JIN’S OKAMA FRIEND!”
