getting back to those holiday drabbles - here's jack!
"Why are we here again?" Kai grumbled, not quite low enough to be sotto voce. Rin elbowed Kai's arm off the arm rest and tried to look innocent, while Kite leaned around Rin to give Kai a 'look'. On the other side of Kite sat Tanishi, snacking on candy bars from the snack shop, and next to him was Chinen.
Akutsu, who was sitting next to Chinen, also grumbled under his breath about not wanting to be there. Chinen slanted Akutsu a look, but knew better than to comment on it out loud. While Chinen had gotten relatively good at defusing or otherwise handling Akutsu's temper, with Kite around all that anger tended to bubble to the surface and explode. Especially if Chinen was asking Akutsu to do something he did not want to do.
Like sit through this concert. Of course, Chinen had not been the one to ask Akutsu to come along.
"Mizuki invited us." Kite stated to Kai, his voice almost dangerous. Everyone knew that it wouldn't take much more to get Kite to bring out the gouya hidden in his manpurse.
'Mizuki invited you,' Chinen thought to himself, far too smart to say such a thing outloud, 'you and Akutsu'. Not that Chinen was jealous of the St. Rudolph sort-of-slut. He wasn't even upset by how clingy the man was with ex-boyfriends. Although Chinen was a little irritated with the way the ex boyfriends tended to drop what they were doing and, though at least one of them complained, they would dutifully attend to Mizuki's needs. Maybe if Chinen dated Mizuki he'd understand the allure. Alas, he was too tall to be Mizuki's type.
Kai, of course, was not tied down by Chinen's intelligence or sanity. "Mizuki invited you." Next to him Rin slumped down in his chair so he was out of the line of fire of Kite's glare and gouya threats.
"Mizuki invited all of us." Kite's fingers twitched on the armrests at his sides, causing Tanishi to shrink back slightly. "One more complaint, Kai-kun, and you'll be eating goya for a month."
"…just saying." Kai muttered, crossing his arms across his chest.
Thankfully before Kai could piss Kite off more, the lights dimmed and the curtain rose on the St. Rudolph featuring Rokkaku 'Rokk' show. Chinen breathed a sigh of relief when one of the twins played a riff to start the show.
Akutsu, who was sitting next to Chinen, also grumbled under his breath about not wanting to be there. Chinen slanted Akutsu a look, but knew better than to comment on it out loud.
