Lie: Neal Caffrey doesn’t like guns.
Truth: Neal does like guns. He likes guns a little too much, really, which is probably why he denies liking them.
Lie: Elizabeth Burke doesn’t like guns.
Truth: She likes them when they’re handled by big strong capable men like her husband (although she only ever refers to him that way when she’s teasing him) and when they’re out of the hands of ‘bad guys’.
Lie: Peter doesn’t like it when Neal and Elizabeth get together.
Truth: Peter doesn’t like it when Neal and Elizabeth get together and plot things, but he’s perfectly okay with them getting together. Okay, maybe he actually likes it when they get together and plot things. Maybe he likes it a little too much.
“You want me to what?” Peter says, frozen in the act of hanging up his suit jacket in the closet. Neal and Elizabeth are sitting on the bed, Elizabeth’s hand on top of Neal’s which lies on top of the bed spread. Their gazes flicker in tandem from Peter’s face (surprised, jaw dropped, eyes a little wide) to the dark brown holster, stark against his starched white shirt. Neal’s eyes linger on the black handle of his gun while Elizabeth traces the line of brown leather with a sensual gaze.
“We want you to wear the holster during sex.” Elizabeth licks her lips, then elbows Neal, Neal adds on, “And we want you to pretend we’re dangerous criminals.”
“You are a dangerous criminal.” Peter says before taking his gun out of the holster and taking out the magazine. Then he turns a dark gaze on his two lovers on the bed. “Hands where I can see them.”
Lie: Mr. and Mrs. Burke have missionary style vanilla sex under the covers with the lights off.
Truth: “That’s a dangerous weapon, Mrs. Burke, I’ll have to have my consultant here inspect them.”
“With my mouth.”
