When it comes down to it, Aoi can't help but try to insert herself between Takagi and Kujo. It isn't for the same reason that she disapproved of Takagi getting close to that perverted teacher, though it's close. Aoi figured that if the perverted teacher tried something on him he would hardly fight it off. She didn't think that Takagi'd get close enough to the perverted teacher to get hurt though. With Kujo though… Takagi'd known Kujo longer than he'd known her, and they were closer. Aoi couldn't help but feel left out when Takagi turned to Kujo and smiled at him. Or when Kuji clapped Takagi on the shoulder and walked off with a soft twist to his lips. It makes something in Aoi's stomach twist, and it's an ugly, mean twist.
Things are different, after she finds out about Falcon, but not so much. It was Kujo who told them all. If he could have prevented Kujo telling them, Takagi would have. She's included now, in the side comments, the inside jokes, but it's still not enough. She's not Takagi's 'backup', like Kujo is.
Aoi refuses to acknowledge that it might be jealousy, because Kujo's not a girl.
