"Hiyoshi." Atobe snapped his fingers, and Hiyoshi glanced over at Atobe. What, was he supposed to bark now? Fat chance of that. "You'll be my partner."

"…" Hiyoshi glanced around. "What about Kabaji?" Like Hiyoshi *wanted* to be Atobe's partner. Atobe was an insufferable tennis player, insufferable, and he was even worse when you were playing 'doubles'. If Atobe wasn't hogging the court than he was letting you do all the work and disdainful if you couldn't handle it. Like playing against two non-regulars while Atobe offered 'helpful' suggestions was any fair gauge of a person's skill. Not that Hiyoshi had lost; it had just been a pain in the ass.

"Who else would pair up with you?" Atobe questioned, and Hiyoshi scowled. "Come over here."

Sullenly Hiyoshi slunk over to stand near enough Atobe that it was obvious Atobe was taken. Hiyoshi wondered why the man hadn't gone off to cling to Tezuka Kunimitsu.

And then their new coach, Saitou, announced that they wouldn't be playing doubles after all. Hiyoshi glanced at Atobe out of the corner of his eye and smirked. "Gekokujou."

Atobe glanced at Hiyoshi frostily, looking down at Hiyoshi like he'd known all along. "Say that after you've won, Hiyoshi. Now let's go."
