It didn't make any sense! Marui dodged around another tree, panting and clutching at his chest.
Oooh, that extra slice of pie had been a bad idea. Now Marui was having heart burn as well as cramps. He couldn't afford to slow down! Any advantage would be taken, well, advantage of! Hearing the sound of someone crashing through underbrush Marui scampered off again. He must escape!

Climbing over a fallen log Marui found himself on another path. "Yes!" Marui hissed quietly as he set off again. This would get him back to the park. Getting back to the park meant being able to hide amongst his teammates. Paying no attention to where he was going, Marui was paying too much attention to if he was being followed, Marui barreled straight into some random guys chest.

"Hey!" Marui snapped, wishing he had another piece of bubblegum. He needed the distinctive sound of a bubble popping to end his irritated statements. The other teen looked at him, obviously disgruntled. "You should watch where you're going."

"I was." The sandy haired kid (he looked kind of familiar, did Marui owe him money?) crossed his arms and glowered, just a bit. "You ran into me Marui-san."

"How do yo- ah, right. A fan?" Obviously not a crazy one like the guy behind him.

"MARUI-SAMA!" Marui's eyes widened and he dived behind the teen into the bushes.

"You didn't see me!" Marui hissed. The other teen shrugged and went back to doing what he had been doing before Marui got there, watching a stop watch.

"Hiyoshi!" Marui's eyes widened to dangerous proportions. Oh hell! Hiyoshi was that kid who Kirihara beat the crap out of way at the beginning of the year! And he was Akutagawa's underclassman! Marui was so screwed. Taking a deep breath Marui looked for escape routs. "Have you seen Marui-sama, Hiyoshi?"

"He went that way, senpai." Hiyoshi's tone was calm, unbothered by any clinging that might be going on. Marui knew Akutagawa clung like a leech. "If you run you might catch him before he gets to the pond."

"THANKS HIYOSHI!" Akutagawa shouted and, presumably, took off. Marui clambered out of the bushes once he was sure the hyper blond stalker was gone. Hiyoshi was now talking into his cellphone.

"Jiroh-senpai's heading for your checkpoint Mukahi-senpai. He should be there soon." Closing up the cellphone Hiyoshi turned his attention to Marui. "You should take the short cut over Butterfly Falls if you don't want to run into him."

"Uh. Thanks." Marui nodded, looking around in hopes of there being a sign pointing to Butterfly Falls. Hiyoshi pulled a map out of his back pocket and handed if over. "…thanks." Marui took off at a jog.

"Anytime, Marui-san."

Marui shook his head as he puffed along. He was glad he went to Rikkai, Hyotei was so very, very weird.
