Taka sat inside his master's apartment, his tail slowly thumping back and forth across the wooden floor. His master was really slow. It took him FOREVER to get out of his car and up the four flights of stairs to the apartment and then it might take his master another fifteen minutes just to find his keys and find the RIGHT key for the front door lock.
His master wasn't terribly intelligent.
And what made it worse was tonight Taka could smell That Male with his master. The male his master called 'Abe-kun' and that made his master even more stuttery than normal. Sometimes on nights That Male came over Taka's master and Abe-kun would retire to the master's bedroom and act like dogs in heat while they wrestled like puppies. It made Taka chew on the guest slippers that his master reserved for That Male.
But at least Taka liked That Male more than he liked The Other Male. ToM was a top dog and Taka didn't take kindly to his territory being infringed on! Even if ToM (who master called Tajima-kun) smiled a lot and liked to pet Taka and would give him treats or take him on walkies. At least ToM had another mate and wasn't competing with That Male for Taka's master's attention. 'Hanai' smelled like a good mate, even if he often smelled like cat.
The door opened and Taka made a break for the outside world of amazing smells through his master's legs but That Male stopped him by picking him up by his scruff. Grr. Taka hated That Male!
