"It's a classic piece of literature!" Oz defended vehemently. He was holding the book in question in one hand, his fingers holding it open to a specific page and waving said page in Elliot's face. Flashes of prose were just blurs to the bystanders watching. Alice, who never bothered to read, stood to the side and worked her way through lunch Gilbert had packed them both. "How can you hate it?!"

"Lots of people hate it!" Elliot defended, dodging the book and the waved prose. He would never do something like 'step back' but he was content to dodge and weave Oz's flailing while standing in place. "They shouldn't teach something like that! It's terrible!"

Oz clutched the book to his chest now, eyes large, round, and tear filled. "How can you say that! It's a tearful story of love! Heartbreak! Quarrelling families!"

Alice gnawed on a chicken leg. She didn't get it.

"They both die!" Elliot snapped, stomping one foot. "That's what's so stupid. They both DIE!"

"They loved each other so much!" Oz's crocodile tears were abandoned as he went back to his 'the louder you are the more they will believe you' technique of arguing. He only resorted to it with Elliot. Everyone else caved so easily.

"Is that saffron rice?" Reo asked, taking the seat across from Alice. Alice pushed the lunchbox over and nodded noiselessly at the fork by the side. Alice did not particularly care for rice, though Oz and Gil seemed to like it. She didn't like vegetables either, but Gil always forced them down her throat. Stupid bird. "Thank you." Reo picked up the fork and dug into the rice.

"They're TEENAGERS!" Elliot protested. "They don't even know what love IS!"
