Ryou lets his hair fall down around his face, and most importantly, around his neck. The two bite marks on his neck itch, but there's nothing he can do about that. Vampire bites burn for days, and itch for weeks. The first few times Ryou got bitten he had scratched at the scabbing wounds, only making things worse. Picking up his red hat Ryou tugs it on, adjusts it so it sits straight and his hair lies flat. He checks himself in the coffee shop's bathroom mirror. He's wearing a white shirt button up shirt, with the two buttons undone. The collar and his hair should be enough to hide the bites, but not for the first time Ryou wonders whether a band-aid wouldn't hurt.
Shaking his head Ryou unlocks the bathroom door and shuts off the lights, letting the green door swing shut behind him. He scans the coffee shop, he'd checked to see if Atsushi was there when he first arrived, and was thankful that Atsushi seemed to be running even later than he was. Ryou wouldn't have felt comfortable meeting his twin brother without that last minute bathroom check.
Atsushi did not approve of 'bleeders', people who let vampires bite them, and he didn't approve of 'blood hounds', vampires who got paid to bite people. Atsushi did not mind vampires who lived off synth, or donated blood (despite all the strange liquid diets that had been created for vampires some form of blood was needed). But people who let vampires feed of them? They were wrong.
Atsushi, who had been adopted by a Christian family when the twins were separated, didn't know that Ryou was intimately tied up with vampires, and if Ryou had his way Atsushi would never know.
