The first thing the superhero community learns about working alongside with Will Stronghold is that Will does not work in teams. Well, he works in teams just fine, Will learns a lot about team work from his efforts to keep in touch with his friends in 'hero support', but Will cannot cooperate with others during a fight. Hero Support and Heroes alike get tossed around by Will during a fight.
"Headstrong." Warren jerked his jacket back into place. Behind Warren the villain's mechanical monstrosity has collapsed to the ground and is smoking, parts of the machinery sputter sparks, other parts have melted into the ground. "For the last fucking time, stop fucking throwing me at whatever is in the fucking way!"
Will smiles at him, all fresh faced American hero, and flips his blond hair out of his face. Warren's fingers twitch with the urge to singe a few strands, maybe the whole horrible mop top. Will had a phase a few years ago when he used a highly flammable hair gel, of course Will hadn't realized it was flammable at first. Some days Warren misses that hair gel. "C'mon, Hothead, don't be such a downer."
They aren't their actual code names. Will goes by 'Omega', which Will says jokingly is like 'you know, Alpha and Omega, I'm the end to all their evil plots'. Warren knows it is actually in homage to a Super Hero turned Villain that Will faced as part of his Senior Year. Warren goes by 'Hotstreak' now, he's never felt the need to come up with a more creative superhero name.
"I'll stop being a downer when you-" Warren stops. It isn't worth the fight, especially since they have had this fight before and Will never admits to being wrong. Will's not looking at him anyway though, he's looking past Warren's shoulder with that stupid goofy grin he gets when he's being an ass. Warren turns to look over his shoulder and groans.
There is a young, 'plucky' reporter who has taken an interest in the Super duo that the public (aka the plucky reporter) refer to as being like 'good coffee; hot AND strong'.
"Fuck. Fly us out of here Omega before I actually lose it and kick her ass." The reporter is climbing over a slab of a destroyed building, her pencil skirt hitched up to show an attractive panty hose covered leg. She skitters down the piece of building, her heels scrabbling for purchase. Will is over there in an instant, one arm wrapped around the reporter's waist, the other helpfully holding onto her tape recorder. Warren smacks himself in the forehead. Will cannot resist a chance to be heroically charming.
"Hotstreak!" Penny Petunia smiles at Warren, Warren grimaces. "Hotstreak, how do you think Nuts and Bolts will react to you destroying his latest creation!" Will looks mildly affronted, and Warren smirks slightly. Nice to know that Will hasn't lost that swelled head of his.
"It was teamwork that took down the robot, Penny." Because Hotstreak always gives Will his due, "And I think Nuts and Bolts will thank me for destroying the robot instead of leaving it to The Cleaner." Ron Wilson's superhero name, he wielded a mean mop.
Penny blushed in a manner she probably thought was pretty. "Excuse me, Hotstreak, I know this isn't the right time to ask." Will still hasn't released her waist, and Warren spots Penny's camera man making his way over pieces of rubble. "But since your last battle with Seventh Heaven-"
"She is not, was not, and will never be my girl friend." Warren interrupts, but Penny gamely continues on.
"-all your fans want to know if you've found it in your heart to date anyone else?"
Warren is sick of it. He rubs at his temples with his knuckles. "Look, Penny, not sure how obvious I can make this for you," Warren had thought it was obvious, he had thought it was obvious for a while. Hell, the Hippy figured it out, how the hell didn't anyone else? "But beyond making senseless puns about being 'flaming'…" Penny blinks at him, Will blinks at him.
Warren fights the urge to burn them both up.
"I'm not interested in the fine female form. I'm gay."
