Akazawa halted once he was three feet into the room, suddenly aware that everyone was staring at him.
“What?” Raising a hand to his face Akazawa checked to make sure that he did not have any lingering food there. It was competently possible for him to walk around for an entire day with grains of rice stuck to his mouth or bean paste on his shirt. Akazawa looked down then to check his clothes. Assured that there was nothing on him Akazawa glared at the people still staring.
Atsushi was left out because he had left off staring to snicker furtively into Yanagisawa’s ear.
“Is there something wrong?” Akazawa grunted.
“Nfu.” Mizuki twirled a strand of hair around his finger. “No.”
Akazawa frowned. When Mizuki said ‘no’ it usually meant ‘yes’. Or something like that. Ignoring the others Akazawa turned to the couch and made to sit in the large space spanning between Yuuta and Kaneda.
“!!!!” At once both second year prepared to leap across the couch before Akazawa could sit down, scurrying to each other’s side. Unfortunately with both of them trying to move they ended up meeting, awkwardly and painfully, in the middle.
Right before Akazawa sat down.
“Hey!” Akazawa sprung up and turned to glare at Yuuta and Kaneda. “God damn it I was going to sit there.”
“Sorry.” Kaneda squeaked, his eyes large and round, filled with that unnameable emotion that Kaneda’s eyes always filled up with when he looked at Akazawa. Akazawa snorted and moved instead to sit at the corner, keeping an eye on Yuuta and Kaneda so the two didn’t move again. Kaneda and Yuuta squirmed a little, their hands grasping at their pants legs and the seat cushions alternatively.
Akazawa frowned at the two of them before looking over to Atsushi and Yanagisawa fooling around. “Do you have notes from Chemistry?”
“Nfu.” Mizuki sat at the other end of the couch, his notebook appearing out of nowhere. Yuuta and Kaneda pressed closer together as if they were trying to get away from the upperclassmen. “I do, Akazawa. Do you want to borrow my notes?”
What Akazawa hated was how Mizuki turned ‘borrow my notes’ into something lascivious sounding. Borrowing someone’s notes shouldn’t be code for ‘I’ll come to your room later and let you suck me off’. Akazawa also hated that borrowing Mizuki’s notes meant he owed Mizuki a favor. Mizuki had a running tally of the amount and sizes of favors he was owed by everyone and anyone. Akazawa knew that so far he had the most favors owed.
