It's a few years since Ryoma moved out from living with his father and into a cat friendly apartment
. He's started his pro career and quickly moved up in the ranks. Now though Ryoma has a problem. Karupin hates traveling, hates it, and Ryoma can't find a pet friendly hotel near his next tournament. Stroking Karupin's head Ryoma sighs and knocks on the door of an old friend. He had been surprised when Kaidoh-senpai had moved into the same apartment structure, though maybe he shouldn't have been since he was one of the few people from Seigaku to know of Kaidoh's affection for cats.

The door swings open and Kaidoh looks first at him, and then down at the ball of white in Ryoma's arms. Ryoma had taken Karupin everywhere with him for years, but he won't have the time to properly care for Karupin during a tournament anyway. He's only facing the inevitable. "Kaidoh-senpai, I have a tournament, will you watch my cat?"

"Fshuuuuu…." Kaidoh's hissing has long since stopped being scary. In fact Ryoma thinks it's faintly cute now, especially since Kaidoh usually hisses when he's embarrassed. "…I could…" Karupin meows, hopping out of Ryoma's arms to rub against Kaidoh's legs as he purred. Kaidoh crouches down, carefully petting Karupin's head and Ryoma feels a small pang. Karupin is his cat after all, and he hates leaving him behind.

Maybe Ryoma'd reconsider his decision of Kaidoh-senpai did something creepy, like tell Karupin 'don't worry baby, I'm gonna take good care of you' which is creepy no matter who says it or why. Or if Kaidoh-senpai had been busy, or had pets of his own. But Kaidoh-senpai doesn't, and his work as a high school tennis coach and teacher won't keep him from being able to give Karupin all the attention Karupin needs.

"I can bring over his stuff before I leave. Or if you want I can give you a key to my apartment." Ryoma stuffs his hands in his shorts, looking away from the cute scene awkwardly. "Karupin's more comfortable at home."

"A key to your apartment then." Kaidoh gives Karupin one last pat and stands. Ryoma nods, before leaning down and picking Karupin up. Karupin gives Kaidoh a 'nyao' of goodbye as Ryoma heads back to his apartment. He'll get a spare key made and leave it for Kaidoh tomorrow. It's not like Ryoma minds having someone else in his apartment, though no one has really stepped inside of it for a while, and he knows he can trust Kaidoh with anything in there.

He'd trust Kaidoh with Karupin after all, and Karupin was his baby.
