I kinda like playing in girl!verse. I really want to write my girl Golden Pair too.....

Fuji knows it's irrational of her to feel jealousy because of a tennis match but… she winds fingers through the chain link fence as she watches Tezuka play Echizen.

Echizen's shorts swish as she runs for one of Tezuka's shots and Fuji feels the jealousy burn again. Tezuka is playing Echizen to bring out Echizen's full potential, but Tezuka has never done this for any other member of Seigaku. The game ends with Echizen on her knees, looking up at Tezuka.

 

Tezuka is glorious, the sun streams around her short brown hair as she stands over Echizen. Fuji can see Oishi worrying in the background, she's biting her thumbnail the way she always does when a member of the team is doing something dangerous. That confirms Fuji's worries about Tezuka's shoulder.

 

"Become a pillar of Seigaku." Tezuka's alto voice commands and Fuji can't make out Echizen's response, if Echizen responds at all. Tezuka turns off the courts, her glasses catching the last rays of the setting sun and Fuji's heart skips a beat when they clear and brown eyes lock on Fuji's gaze. Tezuka stares at her for a second before turning and heading towards Oishi.

 

Heart thudding in her chest Fuji feels a blush crawl up onto her cheeks. Fuji knows it's irrational to be jealous of Echizen, because that specific penetrating stare belongs solely to her.
