New idea, tell me if it's any good?

A/N- Since everyone over 18 has died I decided not to kill the demons. Don’t ask me why it just doesn’t affect their physiology. Also Angel is still a vampire he just has no demon… I know it does not make much sense but I needed him around. I set it before their junior year because I did not want to deal with Aus and Hell and coming back and the mayor. Which brings me to him. He’s dead, he was basically human and over 18; hence death. Also Giles, sadly, died and not sadly Ben died too; taking Glory with him. Dawn however will still appear because the monks(who have died) had to put the Key somewhere.

During the summer of 1997 a sickness began to build. A plague that was the combination of magic and disease, it was developed in a sorcerers home but would eventually kill that mage and travel into the world. Its chosen victims were mortals, all over the age of eighteen. Top scientists struggled to stop it, magicians, watchers, warlocks all united to end this plague. However they died futilely struggling to save their own lives. Rupert Giles, beloved watcher to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, was called back to England to help and was never heard of again. Angel, the souled version of Angelus, was captured by desperate magic workers to see if his blood could be used. In their hurry to find a treatment they unleashed Angelus by separating the demon and the soul. Now both were practically immortal and would live as long as the other did.
Unfortunately for the Hellmouth and the Scooby gang demons were unaffected and thus practically given free reign on Earth. However the Sunnydalians banded together, gathering the youth of their town and barricading themselves in the old high school over the hellmouth, the better to fight evil with. Angel eventually escaped from the scientists and joined them their, but his other half Angelus disappeared into the United States to roam.
William the Bloody, AKA Spike, did indeed appear in Sunnydale but had already given up his plan of killing the slayer. His sire Drusilla had cut her ties with him and gone off with a chaos demon to join up with ‘Daddy’. He had heard that Angel was helping some of the White Hats guard the hellmouth and since food sources were becoming rather scarce he had no wish to join one of the marauding demon clans or set himself up in a city as master. Instead making a decision to join his sorta grandsire in protecting the world.
Which is a good thing since besides fighting demons the Sunnydale teenagers also had to fight renegade teens, other tribes, and animals that had been mutated by the virus.
